Tie Breaking

Ties and Tie
Breaking
- In the event of ties, matching of
scorecards is used except in Major Tournaments which use
Sudden Death Playoffs
- In all other events, as suggested in
the USGA Rules of Golf, in the event of a tie after 18
holes, the winner is determined on the basis of the best
score (net) for the last 9 holes. (18 holes in multi-week
events)
- If the tying players have the same
last nine holes, the winner will be determined on the basis
of the last 6 holes.
- If the tie continues the winner is
determined by the last 3 holes, and finally the 18th hole.
- If this does not produce a winner,
then a tie will stand and prizes are split equally.
- All Ties in Major Tournaments are
played off in Sudden Death starting at the First Hole.
Players should consult with the Pro Shop before beginning
the Sudden Death Playoff
